[metaslider id=703]Following on from our story in February this year works at the newly refurbished visitor centre at Dean Castle Country Park are now complete. The works carried out are part of a £4m investment by the Heritage Lottery Fund’s “Parks for People” and the aim is to create a Centre for Educational Excellence and a Visitor Orientation Hub along with a new Centre for Rural Life.
Parks for People funding helps to conserve the heritage that makes historic parks special. And it gives local people a say in how they are managed in the future. Projects improve people’s wellbeing and knowledge of their area, and make communities better places to live, work and visit.
Works on the Centre for Rural Life are still ongoing and expected to be completed before the end of the year so the park can be fully operational for new visitors in the spring 2018. With the enhanced experience for visitors it is expected that the centre will be key to the ongoing success of the park as a tourist and educational attraction nationwide.
